STIKE TYPEFACE Video games have been one of the world’s biggest entertainment sources for many decades now. However there is a problem in this field. Boys are known to be bigger video gamers than girls, so when we see girls play as well, they receive backlash harsh insults that causes them to stop playing or even lower their self esteem. Video games are meant to be purely fun and a way of relaxing and escaping reality, so I strongly disagree with this idea of discriminating women there. Which is why I have designed Stike; an elegant, bold and fantasy-like typeface which will be used for video game titles. The design is aiming for women with the sharpness, stars and coherence, in order to reel them back in the field.

INSTAGRAM CAROUSEL POST
Our society creates standards and stereotypes that seem to be intended to encourage people to change, physically, but the outcome is far from positive. The insecurities and struggles it has spread is a real problem that needs to be addressed. Which is why I created a carousel post for social media, as I believe that bringing the solution where the issue mainly resides will make a bolder impact. I centered this specific project around women, since the gender is known to be more in touch with emotions, and therefore I believe would be more sensitive towards this issue and would feel more connected to the carousel.

DUREX PACKAGING

Young people love the concept of discovery. They love breaking rules and finding new passions in life. One of the discoveries they make at some point in their lives is sex, and a lot of those young people want to break rules in this area too. I want to prevent these thoughts and promote the importance of protection when it comes to physical intimacy through a new design proposal for Durex. I want to speak to the young people through the aesthetic and colors. I want to showcase passion, sex, connection, erotica with my design. I want to sell this idea, so that the potential consumers will feel attracted and will want to buy the box.

CLUB VISUALS

Life is movement. Life is expression. Life is freedom. I wanted to reflect life through visuals, so I asked myself, where do people feel the most alive? The most unhinged and free? Clubs. A recurrent place that young people go to to get it out of their system and be totally free are clubs and the atmosphere of the room and its crowdedness puts you in a trance. This trance is what I wanted to capture thorugh the visuals. This moment when your body breaks free, you lose control and you feel your heartbeat synchronize with the beat of the club.

SHORT ANIMATION

I perceive the word ‘devotion’ as a negative aspect. It reminds me of an unhealthy obsession and the fact that people joke about it on thedaily, forgetting that it is a real condition that can consume you whole. For this project, I created an animation which tells a short story of a man, whose personality and entire life revolves around a woman he is head over heels for. I want to display the distress of such situation by making a horror/entertaining short video to entice viewers.

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE POSTER

Domestic violence is far more common than one might think. It’s just very well covered, hidden. How so? Because the victims are too afraid to say or do anything in fear of an even more cruel revenge. I analysed an existing domestic violence prevention association as I wanted to design posters as proposals for them; Women’s Aid. This association emphasizes mainly on women and children, as they are the most recurrent victims of such horrible acts. I wanted the posters to convey the emotion that the victims feel along with a color palette that tells a story; in darkness there is always a light of hope, the light of hope in question being Women’s Aid.

WEBSITE REDESIGN

So close to finishing my academic year, I am looking at other universities to see what options I have. The first impressions of universities always matter as it can build your decision faster. And the first aspect of a university you usually see is their website, so their interface must be presented nicely in order for the potential students to be drawn to apply. For this project, I picked an existing university, analysed their website and redesigned it to enhance it further. I picked Design Academy of Eindhoven, Netherlands and went for a bolder and fresher style, making each section pop more while still keeping the same color palette. As an extra, I designed a brochure for a specific Master Programme at that university.

LAS REHOMERS

For my Final academic project, I worked with a real client, a charity dog rehoming group based in Spain called LAS Rehomers. It was a startup group in need for more visibility and recognition which I took care of. I designed their complete brand with an upbeat doodle style. Along with the logo variations and corporate elements and palette, I designed a website for my client in both desktop and mobile version. I also designed merchandise for potential buyers and/or fundraising, along with stationery material and a little shop proposal for an upcoming dog friendly pop up store. To promote my client and their mission to rehome dogs, I made a promotional video to sum up LAS Rehomers’ tone of voice and intentions.
